Chat policies allow you to control which types of communication channels are available across your organisation. You can disable chat types at the organisation level for all your teams (centres), and you can further allow team to choose additional channels to disable if they wish.

Accessing chat policy settings as an organisation

  1. Navigate to your organisation settings

  2. Select Families

  3. If Families is toggled on, you will see Chat policy. Here you can
    - Disable any channels for your centres
    - Allow/disable team overrides if you would like to let teams disable additional chats you have left open

  4. Click Save chat policy to save updates.

Family Channels

One channel per child for direct, personal communication with families.

Room

One-way channel per room for communication with all families of the room.

Internal — Acknowledgements, All Team, Celebrations, Social

Internal — Room

⚠️ Important: Impact of Disabling Channels

Disabling a chat type will permanently delete the chat channel and all message history. This action cannot be undone. Documents that were shared will remain accessible through the Activity section for families.
