The difference between "Link evidence" and "Evidence" text box in a Grow journey step

When adding evidence to a step in your Grow journey, there are two separate areas. Here's what each one does and when to use them.

When you open a step in your Grow journey, you'll notice two separate areas for adding evidence. They look similar but work quite differently, here's what each one does.

Option 1: Link evidence

This is for linking documents that already exist inside Mana. If you've written a learning story, observation, or any other Mana document that supports your goal, you can attach it here so it's connected to this step in your journey.

Think of it as pointing to something you've already created the document stays where it is and is simply linked to your journey step.

Option 2: Evidence (text box)

This is for uploading external files from outside Mana- things like PDFs, photos, certificates, or documents saved on your device. When you add something here, Mana creates a new document and stores it directly in your journey.

Anything you add through the Evidence box will appear in the Documents section of your Grow journey. You can open it from there to view version history, restore a previous version, or work on it as a full document.

Quick summary

  • Link evidence → attach an existing Mana document

  • Evidence → upload a file from your device (creates a new document in your journey)
