Using "Force generate" when you don't have much to share with Coach Sue

Force generate lets you skip Coach Sue's minimum input threshold when you have a short or simple document in mind, you just give a brief reason why.

Written by Sithmi Rajapaksa

When writing a document with Coach Sue, she usually needs a certain amount of information before generating, this helps her produce something meaningful rather than guessing. But sometimes you genuinely don't have much to give her, or you're writing something short and simple.

What it does

Force generate lets you skip the minimum input threshold. Instead of adding more detail to satisfy the requirement, you give a brief reason for why you're working with less, for example, "This is a short document" or "I only have a quick reflection to capture."

Coach Sue will then generate based on what you've shared, knowing the context is limited.

When to use it

Use Force generate when you have a clear sense of what you want to write but the content is genuinely brief, not because you haven't thought about it, but because it doesn't need more. A short reflection, a quick note, or a simple observation are all good examples.

It's a beta feature, so you may see it labelled as experimental in the app.

What to keep in mind

Coach Sue will do her best with limited input, but the output may be shorter or less detailed than usual. As always, read through and edit what she produces before saving.
