Mana can display catch-ups and learning stories in your preferred language. Once you set your language in Account, new catch-ups appear translated when you open them.
đĄ This article describes Families 2, the updated family experience. If the app on your phone doesn't match what you see here, your centre is still on Families 1 â that's set by your service, not something you can change yourself. Every service moves to Families 2 on 24 August 2026, so you'll see this experience by then whatever your centre does in the meantime.
How to set your preferred language
Open the Mana Families app and go to Account.
Tap Document language.
Choose your preferred language from the list.
Tap Submit.
The language setting applies to catch-ups you open from now on. Older catch-ups may still appear in English if they were shared before you changed the setting.
Reading a translated catch-up
When you open a catch-up, Mana translates it automatically. The title and the full story both translate â not just parts of it. While translation is loading, you'll see the page taking shape rather than a blank screen.
If you want to check the original English version, tap See original at any time. You can switch back to the translated version from the same spot.
If translation isn't available for a particular catch-up, the original text will remain readable â nothing will be lost.

Mana supports a wide range of languages including Arabic, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Hindi, Korean, Samoan, Spanish, Te Reo MÄori and Vietnamese. See the full list in the language settings screen.
