Reflect/evaluate a journey with Coach Sue

Reflect and evaluate the outcomes you set. How did you plan to achieve them? What worked? What didn't work? Why? What can we do better/next?

Reflecting on a child’s learning journey is a great way to celebrate growth, identify next steps, and continually improve practice. Mana’s Coach Sue makes this process simple, guiding you to critically reflect and evaluate each journey.

How Coach Sue Supports Reflection

Coach Sue analyses all the documents added to a journey and suggests the best-suited reflection model for your context. You can:

  • Use the suggested model for a structured reflection
📖 Read more: Reflection models used by Coach Sue

  • Or choose a different approach just by telling Coach Sue about your evaluation/reflection style so she can adjust her guidance accordingly.

Either way, Coach Sue’s prompts help you think deeply about the child’s progress, changes in plans, and any adjustments needed.

Two Key Ways to Reflect on a Journey

There are many ways to reflect, we recommend using one of the following:

  1. Reflect after each planned experience

    • Recommended for long journeys (run for more than 3 months)

    • Helps you build on learnings and generate new plans as you go.

  2. Reflect at the end of a journey

    • Recommended for short journeys (around a month)

    • Helps you review the entire journey and begin a new one.

Tip: The end of a journey is not about whether a child “meets” a goal. It’s about reviewing progress:
– How have they grown?
– Did plans work, change, or need changing?
– Is a goal still relevant, or should it be adjusted?
