1

Configure your settings to teach Mana to write like you.

Teach Mana to write like you.

2

Mark your Key Children (who you’re responsible for in terms of planning).

Which children do you document for at this time?

3

Set an individual planning focus for each child to begin a Journey (Cycle of Planning) based on current interests/needs/ discussions with families.

Use your insights and collaborate with families and colleagues to come up with a focus/goal for each child.

4

Jot family discussions that can help support planning towards the child’s focus.

What did you learn by talking to the family that can you help you plan?

5

Write an individual learning story under “Observe & Assess” to observe & analyse their current learning.

What did you observe that stood out to you and what is the assessment? What else are you seeing/hearing/noticing?

6

Create a follow up plan/s from the learning story for each key child to support them towards their goal. This will appear under the “Plan” stage.

Which intentional teaching strategies and planned experiences will you use to support the child towards the focus/goal?

7

Implement plans within the room (set up your environments/ experiences/ group times based on the plans).

Use the intentional strategies and planned experience in practice.

8

Gather jottings/daily diaries/learning stories/letters/photos of plans in action under the “Implement” Stage.

How are the plans and strategies working? What’s your evidence? (e.g, obs, notes, reflections, in-action photos, creative works, children's voices, family voices, reflections with children).

9

Evaluate and critically reflect with Coach Sue under the stage “Evaluate/Reflect”.

What worked? What didn’t? What did you learn that can help future planning? Will you extend this cycle or adjust it or complete the cycle and start a new one?
