Use a Community Update for centre or room news, reminders and celebrations. Write the message, check who should receive it, then share it with families. A Coach Sue chat is not required.

Create a Community Update

1. Start in Program. Under Create something new, select Observation, then Community Update.

2. Check the audience. Select the whole centre in the sentence at the top to choose the whole centre or a specific room/group.

3. Write and save. Enter your message under Document content. Include dates and anything families need to bring or do. To keep your own words, choose Write with no assistance, then Save. Other writing modes show Generate or Clean up.

Empty Community Update composer for the whole centre, with numbered callouts on the audience, document content field and grey Save button.

Example in No assistance mode: check the audience, write your update, then save after adding content.

4. Share with families. Open Share, check recipients and preview the message. Saving alone does not confirm that families have received the update. Follow share a document with families for the current sharing steps and any delivery problems.

Find an existing update

Open View all docs to reach History. Choose Today, Last 30 days or Over 30 days, then set Type to Community Update. Select an update to open it.

If an update is missing, check the time period and clear any unrelated Child or Creator filter. See Find saved documents for more search options.

History filtered to Community Update: 1 choose a time period, 2 set the document type and 3 open the saved update.

1 Time period.
2 Document type.
3 Saved update.
