Understanding the "My teaching philosophy" section in Mana
As an intelligent child development platform, Mana uses the teaching philosophy that our educators provide via their profile to further personalise guidance and support when developing documentation such as learning stories. This makes it easier for you to align your practice with your own unique values and beliefs.
Adding or updating your teaching philosophy through your settings
When you first signed up to Mana you would have been guided through some steps to set up your individual philosophy
If you can't recall whether you completed this, or you want to double check whether this has been added to your profile, select the Profile icon in the top left hand corner of the screen
Select "Settings and make sure your are in your "Personal" tab (if applicable)
Under your Learning and Development section, select "Philosophy"
Next to "My teaching philosophy" select "Edit"
Select from an available philosophy if you feel you closely associate with one of these available options

Alternatively, select "Custom" and type or paste your philosophy into the "My unique philosophy" section
Click "Update" to save your changes
Understanding your 'All about me' section in Mana
In the same "Philosophy" section as above, you will also see an "All about me" sub-section
"All about me" is a space where you can:
Share information about yourself as an educator
Express your unique context as a teacher and individual
By adding information in the "All about me" space, you are:
Shaping how Mana understands and interacts with you across the platform
Improving the personalisation of the experience you will have across writing and coaching, meaning you will have a relevant and relatable interactions with Coach Sue
Adding or updating your "All about me" section through your settings
Select "Settings and make sure your are in your "Personal" tab (if applicable)
Under your Learning and Development section, select "Philosophy"
Next to "All about me" select "Edit"
Take your time to share your interests, values and teaching style in this space. Some questions to get you started:
What inspired you to work in early childhood education?
What do you believe is most important for children in their early years
How do you create a safe and inclusive environment for every child
What values or strengths guide your approach as an educator?
What’s your favourite part of the day with the children?
How do you incorporate culture, language, or community into your practice?
What are you currently learning or developing in your professional journey?
What’s something unique or fun about you that others might not know
How do you build strong relationships with families and your team
What supports you to feel confident, connected and capable at work?
Once you have updated your "All about me section", select "Update" to save your input!

Can I select more than one philosophy?
Educators using Mana can absolutely add more than one philosophy. To do this, select the "Custom" option in your "My teaching philosophy" section and note down the combination of philosophies you utilise. An example is shown below:
