In Mana, Stages represent the phases of the planning cycle. It helps educators organise documentation and track progress through the complete cycle of planning for children's learning.

Stages allow educators to:

  • Categorise documentation to the appropriate phase of the planning cycle (such as observe, assess, plan, etc.)

  • Track cycle completion by seeing which stages have been addressed for a child or group

  • Ensure thorough planning by making visible any gaps in the cycle

Who can change the Stages?

The Owner or Manager at your centre is responsible for setting and customising the stages. This helps keep everything consistent across the centre. If you're an educator, don't worry, you’ll still be able to view and follow the stages as part of your planning cycle, but only Owners or Managers can make changes.

How to tailor the Stages to your Centre or Group

To set the Stages for your centre, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Profile Icon and select Settings in the top right hand corner.

  2. Click on the Features under Teams and select Journeys

  3. Select Manage Journey Stages

  4. Select Default Journey Template to edit the stages for your whole centre.

The default stages are migrated from the Curriculum framework selected (e.g. EYLF), however, you can customise it to suit your service.

In this page you can:

  • Add new stages

  • Delete stages

  • Edit the title, content and default document type of each stage

  • Add quality checks

  • Drag to reorder the stages as need.

Can I customise stages by room, group or age?

Yes! You can add rule groups so that different rooms or age groups have their own template.

To do this use the following steps once you're in the Manage Journey Stages page:

1. Select the + icon on the top left corner

2. Define your category and apply restrictions by age or group to set custom stages.
