Grow Meetings give you and your mentor a place to prepare for a conversation, keep useful notes and agree what to try next in your practice. In Mana, these meetings appear as one-on-ones under Grow → Mentoring.
You might bring something that went well, a question you are working through, or an approach you would like another perspective on. Start with something that matters in your setting.

How a Grow Meeting works
Each Grow Meeting has three stages, with a different purpose:
Prepare: bring together what you want to discuss and the context your mentor needs.
Meet: keep useful notes from the conversation, including anything you understand differently after talking it through.
Follow Up: record the next steps you agree and add them to your Grow Journey, where you track your professional learning.
These stages help connect what you notice in your practice with what you explore together and what you decide to do next.
The three stages of a Grow Meeting
Do I have to prepare a separate reflection?
You can select Skip in the Prepare stage if you do not need separate preparation for this meeting. Mana does not require you to write a new reflection before every conversation. Check any expectations you have agreed with your mentor or service separately.
When preparation would help, one example or question is a useful starting point. Describe what happened, what you are wondering about and where another perspective could help. The purpose is to give your conversation a focus; you and your mentor decide what is useful to explore.
For example, you might have noticed that transitions are becoming difficult for a group of children. You could use the meeting to explore what you have seen and agree on an adjustment to try. A follow-up could capture that adjustment and what you want to notice afterwards.
What should become a follow-up?
A follow-up is an action you want to carry into your practice after the meeting. Write it clearly enough that you can recognise what to do and return to it later.
You can write a follow-up yourself. If Mana offers suggestions, review them against the conversation and choose the ones that reflect what you agreed. You and your mentor bring the knowledge of your setting needed to decide what makes sense.
Adding an action to your Grow Journey keeps it with your professional learning. It does not mean you have completed the action.
Where to start
In Mana on the web, open Grow, select Open on the Mentoring card, then choose your scheduled meeting. Select Prepare, Meet or Follow Up for the part you want to work on.
