In Mana, Key Children is a helpful feature that allows educators to focus on the children they are directly responsible for.
Option 1: Manager manages the assignment of children to key educators
As a Manager, you can select how key children will be assigned through the "Key Children" tile in the Team Management settings.
To manage the assignment of key children to educators (i.e. educators cannot assign children to themselves):
Select your Profile Icon > Settings > Ensure you are in your Team account
Under Teams select Management and then Key Children
You will see an option to Manage key children centrally - toggle this ON and select Enable:
Now that this is enabled, select "Manage Key Educators" to start assigning educators to children:
Here under the Actions column you can assign educators:
Option 2: Educators assign key children themselves
To allow team members to assign their own key children:
1. Select Profile Icon > Settings > Teams > Management > Key Children and ensure that "Enable Key Educator Management" is toggled OFF.
2. Educators can assign key children to themselves via Journeys > Key Children > View All > Star icon
