In Mana, Key Children is a helpful feature that allows educators to focus on the children they are directly responsible for, whether that’s your entire classroom or specific focus children. This feature streamlines the process of tracking and supporting each child’s unique development journey.
If you are an account manager and would like to centrally manage the allocation of children to educators or assign children missing a key educator, visit our other articles:

To mark your key children, use the following steps:
1. Select the Journeys tab.
2. Select “Choose from existing children.”
3. Use the Star icon next to a child’s name to mark them as a key child.
To unmark key children, use the following steps:
1. Select the Journeys tab.
2. Select View All
3. Use the Star icon next to a child’s name to unmark them as a key child.
Please note:
If the team-level allocation setting is disabled, only managers can assign key children via Profile Icon > Settings > Team Settings > Key Educators
If you create a new child by selecting “Add child,” they will automatically be marked as your key child.
If children have already been added to the account, you can choose “Choose from existing children” and then mark them using the star icon.
Multiple educators can have the same child marked as a key child (e.g., all educators in one room can mark all children in the room key children or choose to mark only their focus children)
