Select Discuss on a shared document to open a conversation connected to that learning. This helps your child's educators understand which update your question or observation refers to.
You can use the conversation to add a perspective from home: something your child mentioned, a related interest, or a question you would like to explore together.
Open the discussion
On Home, find the shared document you want to discuss.
Select Discuss.
If Mana asks Which child is this about?, choose the child you mean.
Check the child and document context in the conversation.
If a reply control is available, write your message and use the send control when you are ready.
When a document relates to more than one eligible child, choosing the child keeps the discussion connected to the intended Family channel. Cancelling the chooser does not send a message.
Opening Discuss also does not send a message on its own. You decide what to write and when to send it.
Continue the conversation
Return to the child's conversation in Chat to continue the discussion. If your message is about something unrelated to a document, start directly from the appropriate Chat channel instead.
For an overview of channel types, read Talk with your child's educators in Chat.
If Discuss is unavailable
Discussion depends on the shared document, a connected child and the channels your early learning setting makes available. Sending also needs a channel and membership that allow replies. Do not choose another child simply to get past an unavailable conversation.
Ask the setting which contact route to use for your question. For a technical error in Mana, email [email protected] with what you tried and the error message. Educator response times depend on the setting's usual arrangements.
