Stage colours can show that work has started before an audit. Open the stage assessment to check the saved result. Review the explanation, run an audit when needed, or save your professional judgement. These assessments also feed Journey reporting.
Understanding the traffic light system
🟢 Green: Complete.
🟡 Yellow/orange: In progress.
🔴 Red: Not started. Grey means Not assessed yet. Red is not a deadline or overdue warning.
Adding evidence does not immediately update the saved assessment. Run a stage audit, or use automatic audits if your centre has enabled them. The centre selects Daily or Weekly; earlier changes may still need a manual audit.
On track, Falling behind and Off track describe the overall Journey’s pace against its timeline. They are different from a stage’s saved assessment. See Audit Journey stages and keep reporting up to date for reporting and automatic-audit settings.
Benefits of AI guided auditing
✔ Saves time for educational leaders
✔ Supports documentation review
✔ Gives educators full control
✔ Improves visibility across the service
Auditing helps you review what is documented and decide what still needs attention. Check Mana’s explanation against your professional judgement.
How to use the stages auditing feature
Navigate to Stages
Open Journeys, select the child and open their Journey. Review the coloured status dots beside the stage headings.
Check the traffic light status
Reports use each stage’s saved assessment; the visible dot can also reflect work started before an audit.
Read the stage’s saved assessment and explanation to understand what still needs attention.
Complete any missing actions
If a stage is In progress, review the explanation and any missing evidence before requesting an updated assessment.
Example: If the stage expects family input that is missing, the audit may identify it as outstanding. Read the explanation rather than relying on the colour alone.
Manually adjust the stage (if needed)
Educators can override the AI assessment and update the status manually.
For the current controls, see Audit Journey stages and keep reporting up to date.
Choose the assessment that reflects your professional judgement, explain your reason and save it.
Provide a reason for the change, and the system will record the update.
Frequently asked questions
Why isn’t my stage turning yellow even though I’ve uploaded all the content?
Check the saved assessment as well as the visible stage dot. Read the stage explanation. If evidence has changed, run an audit; if you disagree, save your own assessment with a reason.
Why isn’t my stage turning green?
Read the assessment explanation to identify any outstanding evidence or actions.
If everything is correct, you can manually update the status and provide a reason for the change.
Can I run an audit more than once a day?
You can request a stage audit when you need an updated assessment. Use the audit button shown and follow any wait or retry message. Automatic cadence is a separate centre setting.
